Young Everton starlet Seamus Coleman has been rewarded for his excellent early season from by being called up to the Irish squad for the upcoming fixtures against Russia and Slovakia.

The former Sligo Rovers player, who has also had a spell on loan at Blackpool, is the only uncapped player in Trapattoni’s squad.  Both Stephen Kelly (calf injury) and Darren O’Dea (knee injury) have had to pull out of the squad, and so opened the door for Coleman.

Keith Treacy, who impressed in a cameo against Argentina, has been placed on standby for the squad.
