Armenia and Russia draw in Yerevan

Armenia and Russia have finished nil nil in the Armenian capital Yerevan.

Russia controlled proceedings in the first half and could count themselves unlucky not to be winning at the break. Armenia finally came into the game in the second half and looked very threatening on the break. The Armenians felt a win was possible and pushed forward at every opportunity, leaving lots of space for Russian counter attacks. The Russians were unable to make the most of it however.

The result means that Russia have dropped 2 points and Slovakia 3 in Yerevan, a city where Ireland won in the first round of fixtures.
