Aiden McGeady scores as Spartak Moscow win 3-0
Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady scored for Spartak Moscow as he played his first full 90 minutes for the club since returning from injury.
Spartak hosted Krylya Sovetov at the Luzhniki Stadium with Dutchman Demy de Zeeuw opening the scoring after just three minutes. Nigerian forward Emmanuel Emenike was a constant threat to the Krylya defence, and was awarded man of the match thanks to his late goal, but the good news for Irish fans is the fact that McGeady played the full game, and also found the net.
Andrei Tikhonov picked up the ball near the touchline and flighted over a neat cross, which found McGeady unmarked in the box, who volleyed home for his first goal since May. The win for Spartak moves them up to fifth in the Russian Premier League table after 24 games.
