Republic of Ireland under-21 manager Noel King has named a provisional sixteen man squad to face Liechtenstein in Euro 2013 qualifiers on October 11th.

King has kept faith with the side which beat Hungary 2-1 in Sligo last month, and has room for two further additions to the squad before the match. Senior international Greg Cunningham could be in line to make his under-21 debut after recovering from injury, and Sean Scannell is also recalled. Bradford striker Terry Dixon could also be called up, as he has been placed on standby for the squad.

Ireland started Group 7 well with a win over Hungary thanks to goals from Robbie Brady and Rhys Murphy, but lost 1-0 away to Turkey in the second game. The Turks are top of the group thanks to that win, as well as two victories over Liechtenstein (6-1 and 3-0). Italy beat Hungary 3-0 in their opening game, and are currently joint with Ireland on three points.

Liechtenstein play Italy in Vaduz on 6 October, but will face Ireland at the 2,100 capacity Sportpark Eschen-Mauren on the 11th.

Republic of Ireland u21 Squad:
Goalkeepers: Ian McLoughlin (MK Dons), Aaron McCarey (Wolves)
Defenders: Shane Duffy (Scunthorpe), Gavin Gunning (Dundee Utd), Rob Kiernan (Wigan), Niall Canavan (Scunthorpe), Greg Cunningham (Man City), Mark Connolly (Bolton), Richie Towell (Hibs)
Midfielders: Aidan White (Leeds), Adam Barton (Preston), Conor Clifford (Chelsea), Jeff Hendrick (Derby), Robbie Brady (Hull)
Forwards: Sean Scannell (Crystal Palace), James Collins (Shrewsbury)
