Stevenage sign Don Cowan from Longford Town

21 year old striker Don Cowan has joined League One side Stevenage from Longford Town.

The move is subject to international clearance, but Cowan signed on the dotted line yesterday for Stevenage, moving for an undisclosed fee. Cowan had been in England on trial with the Boro, and impressed manager Graham Westley enough to be offered a contract. He previously had a trial with Millwall, but returned to Longford where he scored an impressive 8 goals in 19 appearances this season.

Cowan previously played for Shamrock Rovers in 2009 and 2010, but made the move to Longford last summer and has flourished since. Unfortunately, Cowan turns 22 in November, so is not eligible for an Under-21 call-up for this campaign.
