Cesare Prandelli names preliminary Italy Euro 2012 squad
Italy manager Cesare Prandelli has named a 32 man preliminary squad for Euro 2012.
Prandelli has surprisingly included Serie B midfielder Marco Veratti who plies his trade with Pecara. The 19 year old is a transfer target of Juventus after helping his club win the Serie B title as well as the Coppa Italia. He has also included uncapped Mattia Destro, Emanuele Giaccherini, and Ezequiel Schelotto, while there is no room for Giampaolo Pazzini, Alessandro Matri or Pablo Osvaldo.
Prandelli is due to give a press conference tomorrow (Monday) explaining his decisions, as well as confirming the date when he will whittle the squad down to the final 23.
