Ireland announce Euro 2012 squad numbers

The FAI have announced the squad numbers for the Republic of Ireland Euro 2012 panel.

Giovanni Trapattoni’s preferred starting lineup have all been handed the first eleven numbers, with Kevin Doyle taking the number 9 shirt. Jonathan Walters will wear 19, the same as at club Stoke City, while James McClean has slightly changed from his Sunderland squad number, moving up from 23 to 22 to make room for third keeper David Forde.

Paul McShane will take number 21 after replacing the injured Kevin Foley. McShane wore 24 for Saturday’s friendly with Bosnia and Herzegovina, but has since been promoted to the full squad.
