Trapattoni names Ireland team to face Bosnia
Giovanni Trapattoni has included Paul McShane and James McClean in the Republic of Ireland starting eleven to face Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, May 26th.
Trapattoni had been expected to give Sunderland winger McClean a runout against Bosnia, and the 22-year-old will start on the left instead of Aiden McGeady. After being called up as defensive cover, Paul McShane has been named at right-back with John O’Shea ruled out. Trap has chosen not to risk Shay Given in goal, so Keiren Westwood will start at number one.
Richard Dunne and Sean St. Ledger have recovered from injuries during the week to make the lineup. Darron Gibson comes into midfield to replace Keith Andrews alongside Glenn Whelan, while Kevin Doyle has got the nod ahead of Shane Long and Jon Walters to partner Robbie Keane up front.
