Republic of Ireland under-21 captain Shane Duffy has joined Yeovil Town from Everton on an initial one-month loan.

The 21-year-old defender has Premier League and Europa League experience with Everton, and joins fellow Irishmen Sam Foley, Paddy Madden, and Kevin Dawson at Huish Park.

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson told the club’s official website: “When we knew Shane was available for loan we immediately enquired about bringing him to Huish Park.

“With one of our centre backs injured and another suspended we didn’t want to turn down the opportunity of signing Shane.

“This signing suits all parties and as always we are very grateful to Everton Football Club.”

Duffy will wear squad number 15 and could make his Championship debut on Saturday against Bolton Wanderers.
