Frankie Sutherland joins Leyton Orient on loan
Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Frankie Sutherland has signed for Leyton Orient on a one-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old midfielder has yet to make a first-team appearance for Queens Park Rangers, but played one senior game for Portsmouth during a brief loan spell last season. He has made six appearances for the Ireland U21s since making his debut earlier this year.
Sutherland spoke of his happiness at sealing the loan move, which will see him wear the number 24 shirt at the Matchroom Stadium.“I’m delighted, it’s a massive opportunity for me, especially when the club has been in such good form and I want that to continue,” Sutherland told the club’s official website.
“I trained today for the first time today and it was a really good atmosphere to come in to. As soon as I walked through the door I was made to feel welcome. Everyone is really positive and it makes me feel raring to go.
“I want to play as much as I can and learn and be the best I possibly can. If I can come here and do well then I’d love to stay here until the end of the season.
“QPR have had a similar start and I see Orient as a similar club in a way, it’s a compact stadium which is what I’m used to having grown up watching QPR and I can’t wait to get started.”
